The funeral barge streaks through the heavens like a meteor, plunging into the cold black Gaeldon river. Eluding the undead and the hounds of the Legates, Flynn, Lyrrid, and Knav'n make their way along the road west bound for shelter at Gilda's cabin at the advice of Knav'n, where they might lay low for a time. Weary, they seek refuge in a farmhouse for the night after overcoming an Orc boss and his skeletal lackeys who hold the rightful owners enslaved and captive in the barn. Were it not for the opportune arrival of an escaped warforged who cut down their foes, and the harmth of the hearth, it is doubtful any would have survived the night on the frozen Pohjolan tundra. Another dark day's march up the Oldrock River and the band of fugitives came upon Fell Tarmick and two of his Green Tree Bandits who were about Gilda's cabin while she was away. Allayed by their mutual dislike of Govenor Ranlan Pool and his Legates, the bandits departed in peace and with an offer to seek them further up the river should they wish to join them in waylaying travelers upon Merchant's Way…

The Legate was with another he called the Witch Taker, who they overheard report that he sensed a “great emmination” from the barge, and so the Legate and his hounds disappeared into the night to recover the meteor. It accosts the fugitives who narrowly dispatch it and send it's lifeless body floating down the river.

Fleeing along The King's Road away from the city, the party hopes to make for Gilda's cabin marching through the night, but Lyrrid's winter clothing is soaked from the fall in the river and it becomes clear that they must seek shelter if she is to survive. Flynn scouts out a farmhouse with an Orc vandal in residence and returns with the party.

The Farmhouse Gambit [1:41:36]

Flynn unwittingly disturbs two skeletons who have captive the farmer, his wife, and daughter in the barn. He is beset but the undead and their Orc boss who is roused by the commotion. They are overmatched and the the battle would have gone badly had the warforged prisoner they'd seen earlier not been trailing them and chosen this moment to rush to their rescue.

The Green Tree Bandits [2:17:21]

Waiting only for Lyrrid to warm and dry her cloths by the fire for fear of more orcs arriving, the fugitives return again to the road with the rescued family of farmers in tow in a wagon hitched to a skeletal horse. It was two days march to the cliff at Gilda's cabin along the Oldrock River. The fugitives found Fell Tarmick and two of his Green Tree Bandits had come to call on Gilda, but found her away. Fell took none too kindly to the warforged, who received an arrow to the shoulder during the exchange. The cunning parlay of Kav'n spared them from worse, by convincing Fell that he indeed knew Gilda and shared a mutual dislike of Lichlord Zekur. Fell and his gang departed with offers that the fugitives seek them up river to join them in their banditry. The party spent another night in the cold awaiting the return of Gilda…
