-Haffrung is one of the arch-villains of Dark Tower, leader of the Red Eyes of Set holy slayer brotherhood, and arch-mage of Set. It was he who orchestrated the defense of the Dark Tower dungeon against the incursion of the Conqueror’s Brigade. During the adventure the party discovered that he had once been a rune mage of Thoth who had been seduced by the runelore of Set by Pnessut. The CB also learned that his mortal body was long ago slain and his soul bound to a chip of the Soul of Chaos, and that he had found a way to occupy a series of host bodies using the Magic Jar spell. His favorite bodies seemed to be Grom, a massive Gommorian warrior he would use in combination with the Tenser’s Transformation spell, and Skelly, an Egyptian princess that he seemed to use for clandestine activities and even seducing men. At the conclusion of Dark Tower he occupied the body of Orson, a crusader from Thelenon as if in mockery of the Lions of Tomorrow’s quest.\\

-In the final battle of Dark Tower Haffrung was not slain but prevented from interfering with the assault upon Pnessut. He then fell into the Abyss when Pnessut was defeated and the Dark Tower descended back into the Abyss in a great cataclysm. It is certain that he haunts the Abyss still, but unknown if he should ever return to the prime material plane to seek vengeance upon the Conqueror’s Brigade…
