Nari was originally encountered by Grogan & Jebbin when they first came to the Ruined Kingdoms during the Star Gems trilogy. At that time Prince Nari was in service of his father, Aman al-Qasi abu Nari, Khedive of Kadarasto. He challenged Grogan & Jebbin with the crime of trafficking in antiquities of the desert, though they escaped. years later they were captured and brought to justice in the court of Kadarasto, where to escape justice Jebbin unleashed the Molydeus, a demon of incalculable power, from an Iron Flask where it had been imprisoned. In the ensuing chaos, Khedive Aman, and Farouk Pasha (the Great Mufti of Khaibar and military leader of Kadarasto) were slain. Jebbin & Grogan escaped with their lives, as did Nari. Thus began a short reign of the Molydeus from the palace until it was eventually slain by Grogan, though not before wreaking much havoc to the Mycretians of the Ruined Kingdoms.

After that period Nari assumed the throne of Kadarasto, taking the ancient title of Pharoah in homage to his ancestors who once ruled the region from his city.

Kabob, high priest of the Mitra temple along the Athas River not far from Kadarasto, has long held a relationship with Nari that has been both adversarial and amicable over time. Through clever negotiations he has recently ingratiated himself to Nari and holds the rank of Visier in the Pharoah’s court.
