The first became aware of Omotarif when his name was mentioned telepathically to Jebbin after he, Soris, Dur-Adn & Knav’n arrived on Dread Lizard Island and were attacked by a Woldwyrd and a Pterodactyl near the portal [Tower of Ulission, Episode 4]. Jebbin was scried upon and a voice spoke in his mind “Interloper, you have earned the enmity of the Neshfal. Cease your attacks or you shall feel my wrath. Omortarif and the Guild are not to be trifled with.” To which Jebbin responded “we wish no harm to Neshfal, don’t know who you are, we will go our way, etc.” telling his party not to attack. To which the voice responded “you have triggered our automatic defense systems, I suggest you flee, if you destroy my Woldwyrd you shall owe me a pretty sum.”

Jeballa commanded the winds to sweep the party away to safety. Days later they returned to the portal from the north fleeing the Iron Dragons whose ire they had won by virtue of Soris transforming into their hated enemy, a red dragon, within eyeshot of their mountains. At the portal stood a strange man bearing a gun who Dur-Adn recognized was casting Portal Alarm. The party hailed him while buffing defensive spells, which he apparently interpreted as a threat or ambush and he quickly disappeared using an unknown spell that Jebbin learned was Gem Jump. The party were then attacked by the Woldwyrd and a Tyrannosaurus Rex. They destroyed both just as the Iron Dragons arrived on the scene and slew Jebbin while Dur-Adn retreated back through the portal. Soris would also have been killed if Szazrax had not arrived and convinced the dragons to leave the in his care, after which they were escorted to his tower.

Some while later, Jebbin having returned as a ghost, the party traveled to Neshfal where they learned that Omotarif was a legendary proto-scientist there, and head of the guid with many members. After paying Omotarif a pretty sum of 20,000gp in compensation for destroying his construct, the Woldwyrd, they were able to settle their enmity. Omotarif then agreed to train Dur-Adn in the lost lore of the portals…
