The D’Amberville wizard family estates and holdings are considerable throughout the kingdoms of Amarune, and Alaron. Together they form the nation of Averoign, though their cultures are very different. Amarune is the french nation from which the Purple Dragon Knights hail, while Alaron is the seat of English culture with roots steeped in a more ancient celtic culture whose capital, Skatim is also the seat of power for the empire of Thelenon.

Stephen is the seventh prince of the D’Ambervilles and hereditary king of Amarune, as well as an archmage of power to rival Meyek’s. Alaron being governed directly from Skatim, their council vote is also held by the council chairperson, which has passed to Stephen with Meyek retiring to Skully’s Harbor and taking a leave of absence from the council.

Stephen is not often far from his beloved wife Laeral, who concerns herself with affairs of the city of Skatim while her husband and the council are preoccupied with matters of state.
