Action Points
Action Points refer to the Fitness (FIT) or Wits (WIT) points that an Actor spends in an Action Sequence, such as combat, to ante up and allow them to take an Action.
To perform a physical Action in a Scene, or in an Action Sequence, an Actor must spend a point from their Fitness Pool. In the case of a mental, magical or psychic action, Wits stat points are used instead. They “ante” this point to entitle them to take an action during a future time period (ASI). Thereafter, the spent FIT or WIT pool point is referred to as an Action Point. Each AP point ante increases when a declared action will take place by 1 ASI.
FIT or WIT Pool Points converted to Action Points replenish at different times depending upon the time scale of the current Scene, for example, immediately after an action is taken in the case of combat, or at the end of a non-combat role-playing scene that may take place over longer periods of time. However, Actors may Take a Breather to regain these points during a scene or Combat. When available FIT points is zero, the Actor may not declare any new physical actions on the Action Sequence continuum. Similarly, when their WIT points are zero, they may not declare any new mental actions and must Take a Breather or otherwise recover at least 1 FIT or WIT point to continue to act.
