-__**Description:**__ This is a short rest action an Actor can take during combat or outside of it to regain FIT Pool [[rules:core:actors:stats|Stat Points]] or WIT Pool Points that have been converted to [[rules:core:action-system:action-points|Action Points]] to perform Actions. 
-__**Game Mechanic:**__ Performing this Action restores one FIT or WIT Pool (damage) Point per [[rules:core:combat:sequence:asi|ASI]] it remains in effect. This action remains in effect each Phase until the  Actor declares another Action to occur in a future ASI. To Take a breather, the player controlling the Actor about to rest simply announces to the GM that is what they intend to do and the GM adds it to the Phase continuum on the current ASI.  To announce they are taking a breather, the Actor must not have upcoming actions on the Action Sequence continuum, or must first [[rules:core:action-system:actions:Abort-Action|Abort]] those actions. Dodging, parrying, or similar mental Reactions also end the Take-a-Breather action.
