Targeting Body Locations
There are to body location charts used in ND1, although both have eight possible hit locations. The first chart is used when a combatant is swinging a slashing or blunt weapon and the numbers indicate the trajectory of the strike. The second chart is intended for thrusting or missile weapons strikes where there is no direction to the arc of the blow, but instead all attacks move in a straight line between the attacker and defender.
Melee Slashing or Bashing
Throughout combat, Actors will be asked to choose which body location they are attempting to attack. In melee combat with slashing or bashing weapons, there are eight possible strike locations as illustrated by the chart below. The numbers on the chart correspond to the Combat Action Code Structure Location block.
Thrusting or Missile
When a attacking with a thrusting weapon such as a spear or foil, or with a missile weapon such as a bow and arrow, or gun shot, use the chart below to determine the general location targeted.
