-====== Action Sequence Phases ======

-[[rules:core:combat:sequence:|Action Sequences]] are broken down into Phases representing increments of time passing between the Actions of different Actors during an Action Sequence. All Action Sequences begin on Phase 0.  Actors then choose what Actions they will take in response to the circumstance the GM has described to open the scene before declaring that an Action Sequence has begun.  Actors are free to spend their point pools in any way they see fit to take actions, and thereby calculate when their actions will take place.  Actors may take any number of actions up to the limit of their available Point Pools, although it may be advantageous not to spend all points at the outset of the sequence, as that may prevent an Actor from reacting to the outcome of actions of other Actors that take place before their point pools refresh.
-
-Once an Actor has chosen an Action to take, and how many points they will allocate toward that Action, they calculate what Phase it will go on and announce that to the GM, putting their cards for that action face down on the table to be revealed when that Phase comes up.  For Example, one actor may spend 1 Phase one the [[rules:core:combat:sequence:observe|Observe Foe]] Action, followed by a 5 Phase sword thrust.  In that case he would put two piles of card for those actions face down on the table and announce which stack goes on Phase 1, and that the other goes on Phase 6 (5 Phase after the Observe Foe Action that went on Phase 1).  All other Actors repeat this process, and the GM records when each action takes place on the Phase timeline.  Optionally, he may lay a counter on top of Action card piles to keep track of when they take place if there are many Actors and Actions in the Action Sequence.
-
-===== Action Point Refresh =====
-
-During an Action Sequence, [[rules:core:action-system:action-points|Action Points]] that are bid on Actions and then discarded into the "Spent" pile refresh and are returned to the Actor's Hand one Stat at a time as the [[rules:core:action-system:actions:pause|Pause]] Common Action is declared.  Using the Example above where an Actor used the Observe Foe action followed by a sword thrust action, an implied amount of Stat Points were bid on those actions, whether or not those exhausted the Actor's point pools.  Continuing this example, once the Observe Foe action takes place on the Phase timeline, the player controlling that Actor picks up those cards and places them in the Spent Points pile on the game table, indicating that whatever Action Points were allocated to the Observe Foe Action are not available to be used to bid on future actions until one or more Pause Actions are taken.
-
-Another consideration is that the Action Points available to an Actor may decrease as a result of the Actions of other Actors in the Action Sequence.  For example, from taking physical or mental damage, or being the victim of an [[rules:core:actors:environmental|Environmental Actor's]] [[rules:core:action-system:complications|Complication]].
