-====== Hit Points ======
-Hit Points are a generic term in many role playing games to determine how much of a beating an Actor can take before being rendered unconscious or dead.  In the No-Dice system, Hit Points are simply the total of the the Actors three physical stats: [[rules:no-dice:actors:stats|Strength, Agility, Fitness]].

-In combat, each of these stats plays a unique role in determining how likely they are to succeed or fail in an action as determined by the corresponding point pool allocation toward a given task or combat action.  Conversely, when an Actor takes physical damage as the Outcome of a combat [[rules:no-dice:action-system:dbc|DBC]], they must note down on their character sheet a temporary minus to one or more of their three physical stats totaling the Damage Points received, representing the effect of the injury.  The Actor receiving damage always determines how to allocate Damage Points, never the attacker.  For example: suppose an Actor has a Strength 3, Agility 3, and Fitness 3, and as the result of an enemy attack suffered 3 damage.  In this case, the controller of that Actor could choose to allocate one Damage Point to each Stat, all three to one stat, or two to one stat and one to another stat.
-
-Note that stats that have been temporarily reduced through Damage Points have an immediate effect on the Actor's point pools for any subsequent actions taken.  Continuing the above example, let's assume our Actor allocated one Damage Point to each physical stat.  In that case, while those Damage Points are in effect, they will only have 2 Strength points to allocate toward actions, representing the fact that they have been weakened or sustained injury to an important muscle group; similarly, they will only have 2 Agility points to allocate toward actions, representing the fact that they are becoming less coordinated, perhaps from being dazed or disoriented; and lastly, they will only have 2 Fitness points to allocate toward actions, representing the fact that they are becoming fatigued.
-
-See the [[rules:no-dice:combat:damage|Damage]] article in the [[rules:no-dice:combat:start|Combat]] section for more detail about how to allocate Damage Points.
