Durability
Extension Summary:
- Depends On: Things Extension
- Problem Solved–enables objects to resist damage.
- Mechanics Added–system for tracking damage to Things. Things now have a numeric Durability Value (DV).
- What Changes–Things like Armor wear out over time
The Durability Extension adds realism to wear and tear and damage to Things. Durability Value (DV) is the amount of Damage a Thing can take before becoming less effective, or entirely unusable. Any damage to the item below this number is ignored. The remainder of any damage to the Thing above this number subtracts from Durability, representing that the Thing is becoming damaged and is thereby more vulnerable to further damage. For example, if an armor piece has 10 Durability and takes 11 damage, its Durability is reduced to 9. If the item's Durability reaches a negative number, its Armor value is reduced by that amount. If the negative Durability ever equals the Armor Value, the armor piece is destroyed.
