Craft (Profession)

Attribute: Knowledge (KNO, K)
Prerequisite: None
Description: the Actor has knowledge of a particular type of craftsmanship or trade that produces something.
Game Mechanic: Play with (on top of) the Knowledge Action Card. Craft is an Action Tag that allows the Actor to make or repair items within their chosen profession. Each time the Craft Ability is acquired, the Player must choose one profession agreed on with the GM to be able to craft. The GM is consulted to ensure that the profession exists in their game world. Each item that can be crafted has a Difficulty that will be assigned by the GM.

Example professions are listed below. When defining additional professions appropriate to their game world, the GM should make them sufficiently broad so that they are likely to be used fairly frequently in the game, but not so broad that an Actor with one or two Craft skills can succeed at crafting any item. Sometimes a Player may attempt a Craft Action for a related profession, but not the exact profession that is called for, like using Craft (blacksmith) to try and repair armor. In these cases, the GM should permit the Craft Action, but increase the Difficulty.
Time [Extension]: Varies by specific Item to be crafted, and will be listed in that item's description.
Materials [Extension]: things that are required to produce goods of a given profession.
